Mezzano

Firewood stacked beneath the houses is the signature of this Primiero valley village, and local artists have turned the habit into Cataste & Canzei, an open-air show of woodpile sculptures that gains a new piece every year. Between Imer and Fiera di Primiero, its lanes are lined with old Primiero houses and watched over by the onion-domed bell tower of San Giorgio.
