Puentedey
Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España
Its name means 'God's bridge', and the village really does stand on one: a natural rock arch dissolved through the limestone by the river Nela, which once looped around it. The oldest buildings, the church of San Pelayo and the Brizuela tower house, sit on top of the arch, with lanes of sturdy mountain-style houses and long drying balconies spreading out from them.
