Ronciglione

Horses racing without riders are the hallmark of Ronciglione's carnival, in a town on the southern heights of the Cimini hills near Lake Vico. The medieval quarter sits on a tuff ridge where two streams meet, and under the Farnese, lords from 1526 to 1649, ironworks, paper mills and printing presses flourished. The Rocca with its round towers and Rainaldi's cathedral mark the old centre.
