The name says it: the old town of Locorotondo is laid out in concentric rings of whitewashed houses on a hilltop above the Valle d'Itria. Its lanes are lined with cummerse, homes with steep roofs of limestone slabs, and Via Nardelli looks out over countryside scattered with trulli and vineyards. Those vines give Locorotondo DOC, a white wine made still or sparkling.
