Two humpbacked bridges from the late Middle Ages mark the way in and out of Badalucco, a medieval village of bare stone houses strung along its stream in the middle Argentina valley. Olive terraces climb the opposite slope, giving way higher up to the woods and pastures of Monte Faudo. Count Oberto of Ventimiglia chose it as his residence before it passed to Genoa in 1261.
