Noyers
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Tucked into a tight loop of the Serein, Noyers keeps its medieval web of cobbled lanes, small squares and half-timbered houses, many from the 16th century, with towers ranged along the river. Its castle, once praised as one of the proudest in France, was dismantled by Henri IV in 1599. Each November the village holds two truffle fairs, and in 1983 Duran Duran filmed a video inside its walls.
