Yanguas

Muleteers from Yanguas were well enough known to clash with Don Quixote in Cervantes's novel, a trade that grew from toll exemptions granted by Castilian kings. The village rises on a hill where the Masa meets the Cidacos, at the northern tip of Soria province. Houses of slate, rubble stone and timber framing surround the Plaza Mayor, a castle with rammed-earth towers and the Gothic church of San Lorenzo.
