Mogarraz
Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España
From the house fronts of Mogarraz, 388 faces look out at passers-by: portraits of the villagers who stayed when others emigrated in the 1960s, each placed on the home they lived in. The timber-framed stone houses with their balconies line narrow, irregular medieval lanes in the Sierra de Francia. Its oval Plaza Mayor was once used for bullfights.
