Carmona
Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España
Carmona lies on slopes draining to the Nansa river in western Cantabria, and its stone manor houses, the casonas montañesas, show the region's mountain architecture at its most complete. The whole village is protected as a historic ensemble. Its traditions are Tudanca cattle and woodworking, above all the carving of albarcas, wooden clogs made by local craftsmen.
