Finalborgo
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
For centuries the capital of the Marquisate of Finale under the Del Carretto family, Finalborgo was built inland where the Aquila and Pora streams meet, their beds forming a natural moat below its walls. Now part of Finale Ligure, the walled town keeps its palaces, the octagonal bell tower of San Biagio and the Santa Caterina convent, with two castles watching from the hill above.
