Brick houses of the 18th century line the long main street of this hill town above the Adriatic, with narrow blind alleys, li ruve in dialect, branching off on either side. Frederick II's men razed it for siding with the pope, and its landmark today is the Collegiata di San Michele Arcangelo, whose bell tower rises 48 metres.
