Montclus
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Where the Cèze leaves its gorges, Montclus sits among garrigue and vineyards on the Gard's border with the Ardèche. Its 13th-century castle retains a rectangular keep, vaulted rooms and a polygonal curtain wall, and nearby the farm estate of Grand Galès is approached by a long avenue of fruit trees.
