Fourcès
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Round rather than square: Fourcès began as a castelnau and is the only bastide in the Gers laid out in a circle, its houses ringing a round central square so the village could be defended. It stands on the left bank of the Auzoue in the Gascon Condomois, among farmland and vineyards, with an old town gate still guarding the way in.
