Locus: licences of the published data ===================================== Locus publishes the data files below. This note says which licence covers which part, so a copy of the data can be reused correctly. It is a plain statement of our terms, not legal advice. Last reviewed 2026-10-04. 1. Data derived from OpenStreetMap: Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0 --------------------------------------------------------------------- These databases are derived from OpenStreetMap data (an OSRM routing graph built from OpenStreetMap roads, and places to stay and thermal places extracted with osmium): - route-lines.json (and the route-lines/ files made from it): road geometry of the suggested routes - roads.json: driving times and distances between places, and the fitted estimate beside them - itinerary-routes.json: the legs of the suggested itineraries - stays.json (the stays/ files) and the "stays" entries in the village-panel/ files: hotels, guest houses, hostels, camp sites and other places to stay, with their names, types, stars, websites and coordinates - thermal.json (thermal-points.json and thermal-stops.json): hot springs and thermal baths, with the road time to each from the villages - the route_coords of places in places.json, snapped by the router © OpenStreetMap contributors. These files are offered under the Open Database License 1.0: https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/ Any rights in the individual contents of the databases are licensed under the Database Contents License: https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/dbcl/1-0/ The files are the complete derived databases; no part is withheld. OpenStreetMap's own licence page: https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright If you reuse them, keep this notice, say that the data comes from OpenStreetMap, and share any adapted database under the ODbL. 2. Text adapted from Wikipedia and Wikivoyage: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These texts are adapted from Wikipedia and Wikivoyage articles (summarised, condensed and translated, partly with AI assistance), or are extracts of those articles: - descriptions.json: village descriptions and highlights, in four languages. Each village lists the articles it was written from under "sources" ({site, lang, title}). - food.json: the names and notes of local foods and wines (each item names its source article). - events.json: event names and notes where an item cites Wikipedia, Wikivoyage or Wikidata as its source. - villages.json: the "summary" and "travel" texts, which are the leads of the villages' Wikipedia and Wikivoyage articles; the article title is given with each text. Each adapted text is offered under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ Credit the Wikipedia and Wikivoyage articles named with each text (their page histories list the authors), say if you changed the text, and share your version under the same licence. 3. Wikidata: CC0 ---------------- Names, coordinates, regions, populations, Wikipedia titles, sights and Wikidata identifiers in villages.json, places.json and food.json come from Wikidata, which is published under CC0 1.0 (https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/). No credit is required. 4. Photographs from Wikimedia Commons: each under its own licence ------------------------------------------------------------------ The photos listed in villages.json (main image and gallery) and food.json are hosted on Wikimedia Commons; the files are not part of this data. Each entry gives the photo's title, author, licence (with the licence URL) and its Commons file page. Their licences are CC0, public domain, or CC BY and CC BY-SA of various versions. Follow each photo's own licence if you reuse it. Locus does not license them. 5. Events from open datasets ---------------------------- Some events in events.json come from public open-data datasets (source site "dataset"). events-sources.json lists each dataset with its publisher, licence, licence URL and address, and for Licence Ouverte datasets the date of its last update. Only facts (name, month, type) were taken, and translated. Datasets used: - Calendario de fiestas locales (Diputación de Castellón): CC BY 4.0 - Fiestas de interés turístico de Castilla-La Mancha (Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha): CC BY-SA 3.0 ES - DATAtourisme (DATAtourisme and its local tourism data producers): Licence Ouverte 2.0, updated 2026-10-03 (events.json names the producer of each DATAtourisme record where the listing gives it) - Calendario laboral de Galicia (Xunta de Galicia): CC BY-SA 4.0 - Fiestas locales: Calendario de Fiestas de Carácter Local (Junta de Castilla y León): CC BY 4.0 - Registro de fiestas de interés turístico de Castilla y León (Junta de Castilla y León): CC BY 4.0 - Eventi Marche (Regione Marche): CC BY 4.0 - Panorama des festivals (Ministère de la Culture): Licence Ouverte 2.0, updated 2025-08-27 - Cosa fare in Puglia - progressivo eventi e attività (Regione Puglia): CC BY 4.0 - Eventi e manifestazioni in Umbria (Regione Umbria): CC BY 4.0 - Manifestazioni storiche in Umbria (Regione Umbria): CC BY 4.0 The events adapted from these datasets, with their translations, are offered under CC BY-SA 4.0 where a dataset's own licence allows it (CC BY and Licence Ouverte permit this; the two CC BY-SA datasets are shared alike), with credit to the dataset's publisher. 6. Nothing else is added ------------------------ Locus adds no terms beyond the licences above, and uses no technical measure to restrict reuse of the data.
